Story by Dora Rodriguez
Originally a marine from Saint Petersburg, Florida, B Karma always knew his true passion was making music. He was first noticed when he was published in the Tampa Bay Times magazine. Nearing the end of his marine deployment, B Karma did a collaboration with rapper Fetty Wap releasing the track “Broken” which hit all platforms by September 10th, 2020. The song has proven to be a success by amassing a staggering 100,000 streams on Spotify within the first 24 hours of its release. The song is based on people going through hard times, being homeless, having nothing, and bad relationships that go sour, leaving them broken, and having to figure out how to fix it for themselves. “Even when everything seems lost and broken, there’s always a light to be found, if one tries hard enough,” explains Karma.
B Karma is currently working with Los Angeles based mix-engineer Scotty Desmarais, who was mentored by the multi grammy-award-winning mix-engineer Manny Marroquin. Desmarais’ work can be heard on a vast variety of artists and genres including: Post-Malone, Ed Sheeran, Lizzo, Camila Cabello and Blink-182. Karma has said that his partnership on new projects with such a successful mix engineer like Desmarais will only take his music to the next level. Plans of shooting an animated music video for the track “Broken” are currently taking place and the video is expected to be released within the next few months. Karma resides in Hollywood and is working on multiple brand collaborations. The upcoming leak of B Karma’s new single “Tryna Be” was mentioned early July, and plans of its release are currently in motion. Karma has worked with many artists and takes pride in having mentored them to help their careers take off.
