Her beauty routine started at the tender age of four years old, when Dubai-born Hala Owais would sneak into her aunt’s makeup bag and sample test each shade of lipstick from light pinks, to intense burgandies, she knew this was the kind of stuff that sparked her creativity. Fast-forward a couple of decades, and Owais was featured in non other than Cosmopolitan Middle-East, where she was rated Dubai’s top beauty blogger to follow on Instagram, amongst other fierce competitors. “Everything started-off thanks to Instagram, of course,” explained the influencer who has amassed a loyal following of over 40,000 on the social media platform. Thanks to this interest from followers, Owais decided to formally go into blogging in 2017, after having worked with beauty giants of the likes of Nars, Laura Mercier, Charlotte Tilbury, Makeup Forever, Foreo, Dyson, Estée Lauder, Smashbox, Too Faced, Clinique, Mac, and the list goes on.

Hala Owais was recognized on the pages of Sephora Middle East, and subsequently launched her very own filter on Instagram named “Dubai Girl,” which quickly garnered over 500,000 impressions. The beauty influencer’s list of achievements doesn’t end there, however, as she also launched her very own brand called “Hala Lashes” in 2020. The lash line did so well that Cosmopolitan Middle East gave the Best Influencer Beauty Brand Award to “Hala Lashes,” last year. But the Arabian beauty says that she considers these accolades to be only her professional ones, because her personal aspirations are very different.

“I want to use my influence in the beauty industry in a positive way that goes beyond just benefiting me profesionally. I’d love my large platform to be used to teach younger girls and women the importance of internal beauty, and how that truly matters even more than our external appearance. Also, I’m very passionate about studying skincare in a more scientific manner. I’m a self-proclaimed beauty educator, and I want to pass-on all of this imporrant information that I’ve learned, to my audience. My main goal is to be true to my followers by only recommending them the best products and giving them the best beauty tips,” explained Owais.
