Meet Ahmed Alamri, the Self-made Entrepreneur who is launching Startups in San Diego.

Ahmed Alamri, a.k.a. Mojomora commenced his entrepreneurial career at the young age of 16. He recalls that he loved mobile apps so much that he decided to launch a location-based social network, at the time. Later, when he got accepted into college, he taught himself graphic design, launched a design business, and got to work with several local businesses like sports agencies, clothing brands, and technology companies. “Somewhere along the line, I discovered my passion for the law and decided to go law school, earn my Juris Doctorate, and work in the area of intellectual property law (copyright, trademark, & internet law),” said Alamri. But his most recent venture was the launch of a digital feature magazine called DARK, which highlights the projects of local businesses, entrepreneurs, artists, speakers and creatives, following the COVID-19 shutdown.
Launch of DARK Magazine
Speaking with Alamri, he explained that he launched DARK Magazine to give creatives a platform to tell their story in a unique way. DARK Magazine not only gives one a chance to be noticed in a published online work, but the team also designs a custom video promo and digital magazine cover for the artist, entrepreneur, or public figure to share with their fans and followers when the story comes out. “DARK Magazine was designed to give creators the spotlight they deserve,” said Alamri.
Whether it was working with designers, computer programmers, lawyers, entrepreneurs or artists Alamri has always been fascinated by creators because “as creators, we often work in the shadows or in the DARK — hence the name of the magazine,” explained the entrepreuner.
“Unless you’ve launched something truly from scratch, you’ll never understand the amount of time, effort, and heart it requires to take something off the ground. That creative process inspires me and I wanted to provide a platform that highlights that,” said Alamri.
What sets DARK Magazine apart is the time dedicated to create custom designs (videos and images) for the artist, using photos and/or videos that are submitted to the editor to go with a feature article. “There is no cooler way to announce that you’ve been featured in a magazine than sharing a sleek, modern, high-quality video or magazine cover that you’re on, with your friends and followers,” he explained.
Ahmed believes that although preparation is important in order to be successful, relentless passion is what truly separates the good entrepreneurs from the great entrepreneurs. Through hardship and adversity, he has found his actual self and potential by being determined and focussed.
As a hybrid between a graphic design business and a digital magazine, DARK Magazine is the most innovative digital magazine of 2020.
